Nine to Twelve Months
- Select a wedding date and time
- Plan reception and reserve reception hall. (Note: Reserve as soon as possible. Some venue’s may offer competitive prices on Friday and Sunday’s. Should you require assistance, call Clubcorp Entertainment.
- Decide on the type and kind of wedding you want. Large, small, religious, informal etc….
- Set a budget. Decide how expenses will be shared.
- Select a church, Notify your clergyman and reserve date and time for the wedding and rehearsal.
- Estimate number of guests.
- Choose your colour scheme.
- Shop together for wedding rings
- Select reception entertainment. Think about what type of music you would like. Give Clubcorp Entertainment a call. A live band always adds a more energetic atmosphere at the reception. A duo, DJ, string quartet or even a cabaret artiste are also an option. Contact Clubcorp Entertainment and ask for dates where you can see a few different selections. Also, do you want to create more of an atmosphere by having smoke machines, ice machines and coloured lighting for the dance floor and the band.
- Decide whether you want music during the ceremony. If so, we have a vast selection of performers perfect for your ceremony.
- Select a florist and discuss flower choices and colour schemes.
- Select transportation for wedding day.
- Select wedding attendants, his and hers.
- Ask dress and tux sizes of attendants
- Choose your dress and headpiece.
- Choose bridesmaids’ dress and accessories
- Schedule alterations and delivery date.
- List names and addresses of your guests.
- Begin planning your honeymoon.
- Discuss where you will live. (A beach in the Caribbean is always nice!)
- Select and hire a caterer.
- Select and hire videographer.
- Select and hire a photographer
Six to Nine Months Ahead
- Place announcement in the newspaper if desired.
- Register at the Bridal Registries of your choice.
- Choose men’s attire and reserve in the right sizes.
- Record gifts received and send thank you notes immediately.
Four to Six Months Ahead
- Order invitations, RSVP cards and thank you cards.
- Finish guest list.
- Help both mothers choose their dresses.
- Shop for trousseau.
- Confirm all bridal attire orders.
- Choose hairstyle and makeup.
- Select baker and order wedding cake and mints.
- Choose and order table decorations.
- Start health and fitness program.
- Book the entertainment. Call Clubcorp Entertainment for assistance.
Book your Master of Ceremonies. Call Clubcorp Entertainment for assistance.
- Choose your bridal waltz and start practising. Inform the performers and entertainers, musicians/DJ.
Two to Three Months Ahead
- Confirm men’s wedding attire reservation.
- Draw a map to direct guests to the ceremony and reception locations.
- Make copies and send with invitations.
- Send copies to your photographer, entertainers, videographer etc………
- Purchase toasting goblets, ring pillow, garter, candles etc……
- Confirm ceremony details with person officiating at ceremony.
- Arrange rehearsal dinner.
- Plan rehearsal dinner.
- Choose guest book attendant.
- Plan attendants’ parties.
- Make appointment with hairdresser.
- Arrange accommodations for out-of-town guests and attendants.
- Complete honeymoon plans.
- Fill out entertainment and performers questionnaire as attached on Clubcorp Entertainment’s web site.
- Set and organise your girls night out or bucks night.
One Month Ahead
- Confirm all details with your hired professionals.
- Finish addressing invitations and mail them four weeks before the wedding.
- Get a marriage license. (Note: there is a waiting period.)
- Have your final dress fitting.
- Have final fitting for attendants.
- Have formal bridal portrait done.
- Purchase gift for fiancée.
- Purchase gifts for wedding participants.
- Complete trousseau shopping.
- Have attendants’ parties.
- Purchase going away outfit.
- Confirm rehearsal dinner details.
- Make a schedule of your wedding day events.
- Place liquor orders.
- Return performers and entertainers questionnaire to Clubcorp Entertainment.
- Have you girls night out and bucks night.
Two Weeks Ahead
- Finish announcements to be mailed on your wedding day.
- Contact guests who have not returned their RSVP card.
- Pick up wedding rings. Check size and inscriptions.
- Meet with your photographer.
- Discuss pictures you want taken.
- Send videographer a list of events/people you want included in the videotape.
- Continue writing thank you notes.
One Week Ahead
- Provide the caterer with the total guest count and confirm all details.
- Plan seating arrangements if needed.
- Provide wedding party with wedding schedule and directions/time for rehearsal dinner.
- Confirm all details and times with all service companies.
- Confirm your Master of Ceremonies, entertainment and performers.
- Discuss reception details with co-ordinator.
- Confirm all honeymoon reservations and accommodations, pick up tickets and
travellers cheques.
- Assign wedding day tasks to your wedding party.
- Practise make-up and hair style.
- Make sure you have your marriage license and rings.
- Pick up wedding attire and check it for everyone.
- Pack for your honeymoon.
- Rehearse wedding ceremony with all attendants and parents participating.
- Attend rehearsal dinner.
- Give the Best Man or Parents any cd’s etc that is required for the reception.
- Continue writing thank you notes.
- Treat yourself to a quiet, restful night on the eve of your wedding.
The Wedding Day
- Mail the wedding announcements.
- Stay calm and relax (Right).
- Bring rings, license, toasting goblets, garter, candles, ring pillow etc….
- Confirm flower delivery time.
- Carefully apply make-up and style hair.
- Allow 90 minutes to dress before the ceremony.
- If pictures are being taken before the ceremony, everyone should be ready and at the Church 2 hours prior to the ceremony (or as arranged by your photographer).
- Have background music start 20 – 30 minutes before the ceremony.
- Have ushers seat guests as they arrive.
- Groom’s parents are traditionally seated 5 minutes prior to the ceremony.
- The mother of the bride is traditionally seated just before the processional and before the runner is rolled out.

- Have a great day.
After the Wedding
- Write and mail all remaining thank you notes.
- Take care of business and legal matters where applicable such as: name change.
- Have fun and enjoy your new life together.
